Mythology Nerd & Artist, Combined

Uncategorized

I’ve been drawing ever since I was a child; obsessed with dinosaurs, Godzilla, and dragons. Conjuring creatures from fantastic realms and from the woods of my memory has always captivated me. When I attended college I became more introspective in my work. My art matured through narrating my past experiences with the use of animals as allegorical symbols.

Ink and watercolor have been my favorite mediums for nearly a decade, however, I recently discovered the joys of painting with acrylic ink in the grisaille method ( I will share my newest series using this technique soon!). I love the crisp lines of ink overlaying loose, textured watercolor washes.

In the next few months I plan on sharing some art from my newest series in which I’m illustrating Norse mythology. I love reading about the world’s myths and legends. The current piece I’m working on depicts the binding of the monstrous spawn of Loki (God of Mischief), the wolf named Fenrir.

I’m setting up a booth at the Ferdinand Folk Fest tomorrow but once all that is done, I’ll finally have time to work on my series again(and show some in process shots of it).
